Hi my crafty friends. I am so pleased that you are enjoying the snap tab in the hoop design files from my Etsy shop. When I first discovered them, I felt like I was way behind the eight ball, not knowing what they were or where to start. I was grateful to find many generous crafters on You Tube and figured out how simple they are. As with everything I do, I had to go and buy a bunch of supplies because I hate not being prepared. I went with the Dritz plastic snap fastener pliers kit to start for under $20, thinking I could always get a better one later.
It worked fine but when I got this tabletop holder from a fellow Etsy seller GGdesignsinWood, it made all the difference in the world! I LOVE this little handmade plier stand.
Another little tool that has made making snap tabs so much easier for me is this tiny hole punch.
It’s made by Fiskars and their tools have a lifetime warranty. I had a pair of dressmaking shears from them and the locking clasp broke off. I probably bought them 25 years ago. I went on their website and sent a picture of the broken tab and next thing I know, a brand spankin’ new pair showed up in the mail – woo hoo! I’m a loyal customer for life. I should report these as well since the plastic broke, but it’s not that big a deal like the safety was on the shears.
Lastly, I want to sing the praises of these D ring lobster clasps. They have a good weight in your hand. They don’t feel cheap, and they come in packs of 50 for $11.99 so I just keep reordering time and time again. When I find something I like, I am very loyal. How about you? Have you had a good experience with a particular brand? Please leave a comment below, I’d love to hear from you.
